Decadent DIY Chocolate Facial Mask Recipe

Did you know cocoa trees are native to the Americas, yet nearly 70% of the world crop grown today is in Africa?
Also, cocoa was first cultivated in Mexico around 1500 BC. That’s all the proof I need that humans have had a love affair with chocolate for a very long, long time.

My grandmother had no idea what she started when she first made this decadent facial mask for me.

INGREDIENTS:

2 & 1/3 cups cocoa powder
3 tablespoons whipping cream (not whipped) or use half & half
2 teaspoons cottage cheese
1/4 cup honey
3 teaspoons oatmeal

TO MAKE: Combine all ingredients in a blender, and puree. (Or if you’re in the mood for nostalgia, mix by hand.)

TO STORE: Divide mixture into ice cube trays for single usage sizes. Once they are frozen, remove from tray and store in freezer in a Ziploc baggie.

TO USE: Remove a DIY decadent chocolate facial mask cube from the freezer at
least one hour before you plan to use the mask. Wash your face with warm water,
and then apply to face. Let dry for 10 to 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water. To fin-
ish, apply your favorite moisturizer.

DIY OPTION: If desired, combine this facial with the Chocolate and Soy Milk
bubble bath. Double yum!
