Lotions : Full Body Coconut Oil Moisturizer

Lotions are one of my favorite organic homemade beauty products because they not only keep my skin healthy, but they also make me smell good! Just like bath salts and oils, however, you should always use ingredients that you have tested on your skin when making lotions.
This practice will help you to avoid full body allergic reactions or sensitivities.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups organic coconut oil
  • 10 drops of your favorite essential oil (optional)
  • Glass jar with lid

Instructions:

Use your hands to scoop out your coconut oil in to a large mixing bowl, breaking down larger pieces with your fingers.
Using a hand mixer, whip up your coconut oil on high.

Use a silicone spatula to scrape the sides of your bowl as you go.
When the bowl of coconut oil is all whipped up and fluffy looking, you are going to add in your essential oils.

If you don’t want to add essential oils, you don’t have to! I like using grapefruit because it’s quite a refreshing smell.
Once you have added (or not) your essential oils, scoop your coconut oil lotion in to your glass jar and put on the lid.

To use, scoop out the moisturizer from the jar with your fingers and use like any body butter or lotion.
Be sure to store this one away from heat to prevent your coconut oil from melting.
If your oil melts, put the container in the fridge to set it again.
