Everyone loves a good burger, right? Well, here’s a burger recipe that involves using delicious Portobello mushrooms in the place of those high carb bread baps – yep that’s right, burgers are on the keto menu!

Ingredients List:

  •  1 clove of garlic
  •  Oregano (dried, 1 teaspoon)
  •  Sea Salt
  •  2 Portobello Mushrooms (Caps)
  • Mustard
  •  Organic Beef (6 oz.)
  • Cheese (Cheddar or Mozzarella) (1/4 cup)
  •  Ground Black Pepper
  • Herbs or Seasoning
  •  Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

Equipment List:

  •  Griddle
  • Bowl
  • Spatula or Tongues

  • 8g Carbohydrates

  •  If you need to further lower the calories or macro ratios, simply switch your meat to a chicken fillet and reduce the volume of meat and mushrooms used

Method:

1. Pre-heat griddle until it’s hot
2. Combine the oil and spices together in a bowl
3. Wash the mushrooms and scrape between the gills on the underside of the caps
and let them marinate in the bowl of herbs and oil
4. In another bowl, mix your ground beef, cheese, salt, and pepper together
5. Form a rounded patty
6. Place the shroom caps on the griddle and grill for approximately eight minutes
on either side
7. Add your patties to the grill and cook for around five minutes on each side
8. Once cooked, stack up your patties with tomato slices and sauce – It’s burger time!
