In this chapter, we’re going to learn the basics of hair care that will help you get the most luster, as well as learn about some infallible shampoo and tonic recipes.
These recipes are affordable and work even better than expensive products on the market or treatments at the salon.
First, let’s review basic hair care habits that will help you on your way to incredible shiny hair.

1.Make sure you are getting your vitamins every day. The condition of our hair and skin tell us whether or not we are getting the nutrients we need.
Make sure your diet consists of plenty of protein, carbs and fat. Take a multivitamin every day and talk to your doctor about any types of supplements that would be beneficial for you.

2.Protect your hair from the sun. Overexposure to the sun and dry out hair making it dull and dry. When spending extended time in the sun, cover up your hair with a cute hat or bandana.

3.When washing hair, rinse with cold water. This will help close the hair shaft and help the hair cuticle lay flat.

4.If you can avoid it, don’t use heated tools to style your hair. Or at least minimize it as much as you can. If you flatten your hair, allow your hair to air dry first, rather than use your hairdryer and then flat iron. Always use a heat protect when using heated tools.
If you do use your hairdryer, at the end of drying, go over your entire head with the cool air setting on your hairdryer to close the hair cuticle.
